Finally some answers!
I am scheduled for my Cochlear Implant on the 29th of December. They are going to go with Advanced Bionics and I will go pick out my processor this thursday. It is supposed to be day surgery and I will go home that evening. When I have my appt with the audiologist to pick out the processor, I will probably get more answers to my questions, I like the audiologist, she is very personable. According to the office staff at the doctors office, the insurance has approved the surgery and there will be no out of pocket expense for us. Cool! This is going to mess up our Christmas Plans a bit but what a great after Christmas gift for me. What a great era we live in! I feel very blessed.

This is just too cool! I saw on the board in the office that your surgery was scheduled. What a way to wrap up your year and start a new one.
Nine years ago last Saturday I had an incredible surgery that changed my life--yes, it changed Christmas that year--but what I blessing! I am so thankful for your gift this year!!
That is great news! I'm sorry we didn't get to meet up last week... maybe soon though. I'm praying for a successful surgery. You have the best surgeon in town and the Greatest Physician ever. I have not known any adults with CI, but last year I sat with my good friend in the hospital waiting room while her daughter had the surgery and I was amazed at how quickly the whole thing went. What a gift this will be for you and your whole family!

Thanks tmk, jettybetty and jenny! I am a little nervous but mostly excited about the implant. I go tomorrow to pick out the processor (outside part). The calvary has arrived ( my parents) so K is happy and well taken care of, we are looking forward to a joyous Christmas. I will keep looking for you Jenny and hope we meet up soon. I am glad that you have such praise for Dr. Krueger. He seems to know his stuff but his bedside manner could use some tweaking! I was forewarned about that! Merry Christmas Everyone!
