For the few who read this, yes hubby made it back safe and sound. It was proof God hears our prayers because it had been raining buckets all day and about three or three thirty that afternoon, the rain stopped, the sun came out and hubby's plane landed safely about five oclock. Then it started raining again all weekend!
Hubby had a week off, so we went up to the Dallas area to spend some time with his family. We were able to see his grandparents, parents, both brothers and their families and even a cousin or two. His parents kept darling daughter and not so darling dog (she peed on the carpet!) and we were able to slip away for a well deserved night alone.
We stayed at the Adolphus in Dallas. It is a beautiful old hotel. When Queen Elizabeth visited Dallas she stayed at this hotel. There is a big portrait of her and Prince Phillip in the lobby. I still don't know how to do links but just google it, if you want to see where we stayed.
We had a nice visit while in Dallas but unfortunately it rained and rained and rained on us. So we finally just gave up on doing anything outside and came on back. If we were going to be stuck inside it is better to be stuck at home!
Hope you all had a safe and fun 4th of July.
Update: Thanks for the link lesson, David--I think it worked!

hi
dropped by for a spell.
links are too easy, try one, and you will be hooked:
1. find the page you want to link to
2. copy the URL from the box at the top of the page
3. find the word in your post that will be the link, like HOTEL and highlight it
4. press control, shift and "A" at the same time and the link box will open.
5.paste your URL in there.
Done!
digital photos will be another lesson
The Adolphus??? What a treat!!
Sounds like a fun trip!
Sounds fabulous! I love, love, love staying in hotels. Not sure why...maybe because I don't have to make the bed. ;)
Your link worked! The hotel is beautiful.
Thanks for the post and for telling us about your trip. Sounds like a good one.
And I'm glad you didn't get washed away in all of the rain, too!
Dee
Wow, that hotel is beautiful! I think I would not want to leave.
It is a fabulous hotel. We were there the same time you were I believe (we were busy taking photos and avoiding the rain). Look for our feature on the Adolphus coming soon to our Destination Guide at Southpoint.com.
