Lesson Learned!

Darling daughter woke up this morning complaining that her stomach hurt. I did not pay much attention as her stomach hurts or she feels like she is going to throw up at least two mornings a week. Usually it is just a matter of getting woke up and dressed to get over being sick. Besides it was picture day and I had ironed her dress ( I hate to iron!) So I sent her off to school on the bus and told her that if she was still sick at school the nurse would call me. The bus left the house at 7:12 and I got the first call from the nurse at 7:55, school starts at 7:45. The nurse said she had been in the office complaining of a stomach ache but did not have fever so she sent her back to class. The second call from the nurse came at 8:05, K had vomitted (fortunately for all she made it to the restroom) so off to school I went to pick her up! I guess I should have believed her. She looked fine when I got there and the nurse even sent us off with a plastic bag to have her picture taken so she would not miss picture day. She probably could have stayed at school but school policy said she had to go home. She has not gotten sick again today and has been eating. She doesn't feel good but it doesn't seem to be a virus. Don't know what it was but hopefully it is gone now. In my defense the school nurse did not think she was sick either and she is a "trained professional" As if I don't have enough guilt in my life. Here's wishing all of you healthy happy children!

It's hard to know. Ty often complains of a stomach ache, but it usually at a very opportune time. Don't feel bad, nine times out of ten, they are fine and just trying to get out of something. At least at our house.

So sorry to hear about that! Matthew's teacher was out yesterday with a stomach bug and two of his classmates actually threw up in class yesterday. She said to watch Matthew this weekend. He is going to spend the weekend with his uncle, so I hope he doesn't get sick!

It's one of those things...you know? if we kept our kids home EVERYTIME they complained about something...they'd never pass their grade! lol.

Don't feel bad. Gracie told me her tummy hurt while we were visiting a school last year. I tried to ignore it as we were in the middle of the tour. However, she chose to actually throw up while visiting the lunchroom! yuck! Amazingly, she still opts to occasionally have "tray lunch" this year. You would think that the experience turned her off to eating there!

Hey. I have a question for you. Did you get the paper about baby dedication and the songs the elementary will be singing? In those papers, is that the right sign for "adore"? I was told it was wrong, so I thought I would ask you how to sign the word adore. Just so we can do it right! Thanks!

just wanted to say thank you for your comment on my blog. it really did encourage me. i don't know that i'm looking to get married all that quick...but marriage, to me, is so many things and one of those is your spouse, i believe, is your partner in ministry. i've always said i wanted to be a part of a youth ministry...so maybe i'm anxious for that. but i also know that God can use me as a single woman just as much as he can use me as a married woman.
